The main reason this course caught my attention is because, how often do you get an opportunity to go out of the country on a school trip? At first I wasn't sure about it and I said "I'm not that type of person", but now that I think about it I know that since I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and am going to get a huge benefit from this. Just the fact of this course being so unique makes me feel thankful that I can be a part of it.
While traveling, something I pay attention to are to not go by the guide or book. Usually the people in the area know what's worth seeing and on previous trips I tried this and it definitely made my experience more worthwhile. I really like learning about culture and not just taking pictures at places or of objects and wildlife but learning about the history of the building or learning about the animals. All of that just makes your trip
worth more than you can imagine. Some things I really want to learn about when I go to Australia and Zealand are about the animals, such as Tasmanian Devils, Kangaroos, Koalas, Sloths, etc. and I am also very interested about learning about their culture and the way they live. My look on Australia is that its very similar to the way we live and that its more modern than cultural, but you never know, things may surprise you.The reason I feel we're learning about the place we're going to before actually going there is so that we know the history of the places and so we also can say "hey look there's the opera house! ____ and ___ performed there and _________ built it". It really helps you get a good sense of things when you visit and you don't feel as much as a foreigner. It pretty much enhances your trip and makes it worthwhile.

Nishant,
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to hear from you in a way other than in Biology. I am proud of you for trying to do something that is "outside of your comfort zone", and becoming more of the person you want to be. I was introduced to this concept and it changed my life-- instead of going "outside" your comfort zone- try thinking about it as STRETCHING your comfort zone-- that way your comfort can only grow!
You earned a 4.5/5 on this because I would like to see you go a little more in depth with some of the reasoning behind your answers. Also, one of your photos did not show up, so while you did not get marked off for it, make sure you are inserting them properly next time.
Looking forward to traveling with you!
